Purpose

A Community-Based Accountability System (CBAS) empowers our #1LISD community, students, parents, and educators to design their own assessment and accountability systems. Developed from community input, it’s part of our five-year Strategic Plan, outlining goals and strategies measured by CBAS.

CBAS tells unique student stories beyond standardized testing, complementing state ratings. It uses various measures, not just tests, reflecting students, parents, and staff.

CBAS offers a comprehensive view of our system’s strengths, challenges, and progress toward community-defined educational outcomes.

  2. To what degree do we design the physical learning environment, including technology and tools, to promote student and teacher success?

Each year, ΒιΆΉΙη campuses choose 10 Key Questions from five goal areas based on data and input from students, faculty, and parents. In the past two years, the main focus has been on Goal 1: Empowered Student Learning, specifically Key Question 2: To what degree are students equipped with the skills and opportunities needed for academic and personal growth that will serve them outside of and well beyond school? Each campus also selects 2-4 additional Key Questions aligned with their objectives. These choices indicate the level of emphasis or change in their initiatives, which may continue or evolve in the upcoming academic year.
